The TAV Times, established in 2018, is the College's official newspaper and information source for everything related to TAV.

The news-magazine is printed and distributed twice per semester by the collective efforts of the journalism club members.

STAFF POSITIONS

Administration

COPY EDITOR


Copy editors are the human Grammarly; the grammatical gatekeepers of the media world. They read over text or review content and check for everything from typos to nonsensical sentences to incomplete sentences.

Student prospects: Social Science or ALC students who want to pursue higher education in English Language Arts, journalism, communications or professional writing.

COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR


Creates and updates content for the TAV Times social medias, as well as uploads articles and media to the TAV Times website under the guidance of the EIC.

Student prospects: Social Science, Digital Marketing or ALC students who want to pursue higher education in communications, marketing or media.

PHOTOGRAPHER

 

Captures and edits original photos to accompany articles in the publication. The ideal candidate is someone who already has photography experience.

Student prospects: Any students who want to pursue higher education in communications, media, journalism or photography.

COMMUNITY WRITERS

 

Staff writers that focus exclusively on covering the news, events and happenings at TAV College and the surrounding communities of Cote-Des-Neiges & NDG.

Student prospects: Social Science or ALC students who want to build a strong university application.

SCIENCE WRITERS

Staff writers that focus exclusively on the world of science. This might include articles about new developments in science, innovative technologies, mathematics or weird facts.

Student prospects: Science students students who want to build a strong university application.

BUSINESS AND TECH WRITERS

 


Staff writers that focus exclusively on business and/or technology news in the world. This can be anything from stocks, to financial tips, to the latest apps and what Google is up to.

Student prospects: Social Science or Digital Marketing students who want to build a strong university application or resume.

LIFESTYLE WRITERS


Staff writers that focus exclusively on lifestyle articles! This includes anything from movie, song or restaurant reviews, to interior design tips and personality quizzes.

Student prospects: Social Science, ALC or Digital Marketing students who want to build a strong university application or resume.

SPORTS WRITERS

Staff writers that focus exclusively on sports. This may include the seasonal sports: hockey (winter), soccer (summer), football (fall) or fun facts about athletes, health and fitness tips, etc.

Student prospects: Any students who want to pursue higher education in sports marketing, sports journalism or sports media.

CREATIVES


Staff that focus exclusively on creative additions to the publication. This might be a spot the difference drawing, a crossword puzzle, or a comic strip. Be creative! (pun intended).

Student prospects: ALC students who want to build a strong university application or graphics portfolio.
